The competition is divided into three categories:
1. Western Music (Language: English)
2. Bollywood (Language: Hindi or Marathi)
3. Indian Classical (Language: Open)
All instruments are allowed (String, Wind, Percussion / Electronic, Acoustic).
The competition is divided into two categories:Percussion and Non-Percussion Instruments.
There will be only one round for the competition.
Time Limit: 4 minutes including setup and clearance time.
The competition will consist of three rounds.
Pre-Eliminations:
For this round, the participant must send a video of them singing a relevant song in the chosen category.
Time Limit: 1 to 2 minutes.
Eliminations:
Participants shortlisted for this round will perform live in front of the virtual audience and judges.
The participants are allowed to have an instrument accompanying their vocals in this round, but it must be played by the singer itself.
Time Limit: 2 to 3 minutes.
Finals:
Participants shortlisted for this round will perform live in front of the virtual audience and judges.
The finalists may be asked to sing specific types of songs, scales etc by the judges in this round.
The finalists are allowed to have an instrument accompanying their vocals in this round, but it must be played by the singer itself.
Time Limit: 3 to 4 minutes.
Use of backing tracks for the submissions is allowed for all three rounds.
Each participant can sing in one category per registration, and can register for multiple categories separately.
Original composition is allowed and encouraged.
Use of auto-tuning softwares is prohibited, and participants found to be using them will be disqualified immediately.
No rap music is allowed in this competition.
Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
For the eliminations, participants can sing an extended version of their elimination song or new song. For the finals, participants have to sing a song which has not been submitted in the prior rounds.
The name of the video file should be of the format:
Name_W_Saavani_ for Western category.
Name_B_Saavani for Bollywood category.
Name_C_Saavani for Indian Classical category.
